Isabel qualified as a nurse in 1989 and worked as a staff nurse in the NHS for several years before studying full-time for a degree in Human Physiology, which she completed in 1994 with first class honours. On completing her degree she worked as a gastroenterology nurse specialist mainly in primary care, and was involved in training of other nurses within this field. During this time Isabel completed a Diploma in Professional Nursing Studies specialising in Gastroenterology. The arrival of two daughters necessitated a career break, but Isabel kept up to date with nursing, working part-time at a local hospital.
Over the years much of Isabel’s work has been to help patients regulate their bowel habits, usually through a combination of diet, lifestyle and medication, both prescription and supplements. Success was often varied as the treatment options did not address the core problem. With colonic hydrotherapy she had discovered a method that increases the possibility of getting to the root of the presenting problem and treating it effectively.
Isabel trained at the National College for Colonic Hydrotherapy under Milo Siewert and Roger Groos, both of whom have been pivotal in setting gold standards for colonic hydrotherapy treatments and the training of colonic practitioners in the UK. Isabel is currently awaiting membership of the Association and Register of Colon Hydrotherapists (ARCH). Isabel is also studying Electro-dermal techniques and strategies at the Academy of International Bioenergetic Sciences with Dr. Rob Cass.
