Osteopathy

At the Atman Clinic, we work with the philosophy espoused by the founding fathers of osteopathy who understood the relationship between the physical body, the rhythmic forces within the body and the bio-energetic flow systems in and around the body.

We bring together a holistic approach, combining structural osteopathy and cranial osteopathy with complementary therapies including bioenergetic rebalancing and bioresonance testing.

What is osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions.

It works with the structure and function of the body and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues all functioning smoothly together. Osteopathy recognises that structural problems not only cause pain and disability but can also lead to dysfunction in body systems generally.

What is osteopathy used for?

Most of our patients are seeking relief from pain and discomfort in the body musculo-skeletal system, and the aim of osteopathy is to increase mobility, relieve muscle tension, reduce pain, enhance blood supply to tissues and help the body heal.

Research shows that osteopathy is helpful in treating:

• Back, neck and joint pain
• Disc injuries and sciatica
• Muscle, ligament and tendon injuries
• Migraines and headaches
• Arthritic stiffness and pain
• Trapped nerves
• Frozen shoulder

Osteopathy can benefit people of all ages, from babies and children to adults, including pregnant women and the elderly, so no matter your age, we’ll be happy to arrange a consultation to see how we can help you.

What are the different types of osteopathy?

At the Atman Clinic, we offer the following types of osteopathy:
